On March 24, 2017, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim No-Hit their division rivals the Seattle Mariners using eight pitchers.

The Angels have had an outstanding Spring Training in 2017 starting it all of with an impressive winning streak, and they have now added on to their accomplishments in this Spring that means absolutely nothing. The Halos threw their first Spring Training no-no since 1996 where they were just a walk and a catcher interference away from a perfect game.

I know many people could really care less for Spring Training games and especially Spring Training games for teams that finish fourth in their division the year before, but I actually got very excited watching this game as Bud Norris, Jose Alvarez, Andrew Bailey, Drew Gagnon, Cam Bedrosian, Abel De Los Santo, and Justin Anderson all combined for the no-no.

Right-hander Bud Norris threw two perfect innings to start off the game, then, Jose Alvarez, Andrew Bailey, Drew Gagnon, Cam Bedrosian, and Justin Anderson all collected a no-hit inning and handed the game to Abel De Los Santos in the ninth. I would try to describe the last inning to you, but I just don’t think I would do it justice as the inning was three pitches long with three diving and game saving plays. Don’t believe me? It is true that there were only two players in the Mariner’s starting lineup (outfielder Leonys Martin and shortstop Jean Segura) but I really don’t care, whether it is a no-hitter against the Cubs or the Rays, Spring Training or regular season, a no-hitter is a no-hitter, and it should be appreciated among fans regardless.

I don’t know about you, but I am a Die Hard Angels fan for life, and I hope that their Spring Training success is a good omen for them in 2017, because the Angels will need some angelic help to put them back in contention. I know Spring Training success means nothing, but as a baseball fan, you can never be too sure.
