The Yankees have been in the pursuit of a Starting pitcher and have now reached a deal with Oakland A’s ace Sonny Grey.
Grey was sent to the Bronx Bombers for Shortstop/outfielder Jorge Mateo, outfielder Dustin Fowler, and pitcher James Kaprielian. Along with Grey, the Yankees will get $1.5 million in international signing money.
Grey has been truly dominant in his last six starts he has had a 1.37 ERA with 36 strikeouts and 9 walks, and now that he is with a winning ball club, he is likely to be even better.
As a matter of fact, the move has made the Yankees heavy favorites to win the AL Pennant. At the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, their odds to win the AL Pennant has increased from 4-1 to 3-1. It has also improved their odds to win their 28th World Series from 10-1 to 7-1.
The acquisition of Grey has improved the Yankees already great starting rotation that consists of Luis Severino, Masahiro Tanaka, CC Sabathia and Jaime Garcia who the Yankees acquired Sunday from the Minnesota Twins.
Will the Yankees win the pennant? Will the win the World Series? Sonny Grey will definitely help their case. What do you think? Feel free to share in the comments.
