Yu Darvish Traded to the Dodgers Right Before Trade Deadline (Giuseppe)

The Rangers and the Dodgers agreed to a deal that sent Ranger’s pitcher Yu Darvish to the Dodgers just minutes before the 4 PM Trade Deadline close. The Texas Rangers will receive prospects Willie Calhoun, A.J. Alexy and Brendon Davis who are ranked 4th, 17th, and 27th ranked prospects in the Dodgers’ Farm System.

Darvish, who will turn 31 in August, helps to fortify a starting rotation that has now lost its ace in Clayton Kershaw. Despite his 4.01 ERA and his recent Tommy John Surgery the Dodgers still took Darvish further proving that they have a World Series or bust mentality this season and you can’t really blame them after four consecutive seasons winning the NL West and never getting farther game 6 of the NLCS.

The Dodgers were not the only team that was interested in Darvish, the teams that were also interested at some point or another were the New York Yankees, Milwaukee Brewers, Houston Astros, Tampa Bay Rays, Cleveland Indians and Washington Nationals.

Darvish did not leave the Rangers on the best of terms after allowing 10 earned runs in a 22-10 loss against the Miami Marlins but I doubt he cares given the fact that he is going to a team with the best record in baseball and the heavy favorites to win the World Series.

With the acquisition of Darvish, the Dodgers are now owners of by far the best rotation in baseball that now consists of Kershaw, Darvish, Alex Wood, Rich Hill, Kenta Maeda and Brandon McCarthy.

It seems that nothing can stop the Dodgers now with their stacked lineup and their fantastic pitching but we will see as the Yankees acquired Sonny Grey and are now the favorites to face the Dodgers in the World Series.
